Dear Friends,
This Sunday marks the beginning of Christian Aid Week for 2024 and you will see that there are envelopes available for you to make donations to the charity this week. Christian Aid believes that all people of every race and religion are equally loved in the sight of God. But as we all know the world is full of inequalities and the gulf between the rich and the poor is becoming ever wider.
For over 75 years, the belief that all should have equal opportunities in life has inspired Christian Aid to stand in solidarity with the most vulnerable and marginalised people in society, people of all faiths and none. Christian Aid believes that poverty is an outrage against humanity wherever it is. It robs people of their dignity and lets injustices thrive.
Christian Aid seeks to eradicate extreme poverty by tackling its root causes. Rather than simply pouring in money to alleviate poverty, this charity seeks to help people to become self-sufficient, by providing resources and teaching them how to use these resources to support themselves. In this way they are working to bring hope out of despair and create lasting change for the better.
This week is our annual opportunity to show that we care, so please give as generously as you can to this very worthy cause.
With love and blessings,
Marion
