holy trinity church

Dear Friends,
As I do almost every morning except Sunday, I sat down at my desk this morning and opened my emails. There was the usual crop of adverts, a couple of questions which I could answer and one personal note, so I replied to the questions, answered the note, and wished that the adverts would stop coming. And before anyone says it, yes, I have clicked the unsubscribe button, but it seems to have made little difference.
But the adverts did make me think. What if every time someone clicked on our church website or watched us on Facebook or emailed our Administrator, they were added to a list that meant that they would receive all the emails that we send out? Would it make them think more about the faith, the church and all that it stands for. After all, that is what the repeated adverts are designed to do. And whilst I am not suggesting that we do this, perhaps if we were all more up front about our faith and our church and its activities, more people would be moved to come and help us in our work and join us for our worship.
It seems these days that every organisation that we contact collects all our details and makes use of them to their own ends. Is the church, and those who are the church, missing a trick by not making itself and its work in the world more obvious? That is definitely food for thought.
With love and blessings,
Marion
