Dear Friends,
You will have heard much about the reopening of churches for private prayer and I have no doubt that rumours are flying around, as they always do, about what is happening with our own churches. We are living in a very difficult situation at present, and in order to reopen our churches, there are very stringent conditions that have to be met, as we have to be sure that we can keep ourselves, and others as safe as possible. We will be looking at these conditions and how we can keep to them in the near future. Having said that, we do of course, want to reopen as soon as is practically possible. Meantime we will continue as we are.
For my part, as you know, I have been sending out a full Order of Service for each Sunday during lockdown. It has been arriving by email and on Facebook and seems to have been travelling far and wide. When we return to our buildings, for a few weeks I intend to send out the full script of Sunday Worship in the same way – on a Monday, for those who would rather be more cautious and stay at home for a little longer.
However, there will come a day when we can safely return to worshipping together and what a happy day that will be. We have all missed each other’s company and the joy and encouragement of worshipping together, and so we look forward in faith to that day.
Meantime, I hope you are enjoying the lovely weather we are having at the moment, and the new opportunities to meet family and friends outside.
